VPK

Our VPK class uses a combination of the Creative Curriculum along with theme based lessons to meet the academic needs of the children while preparing them for Kindergarten. The VPK class has a lead teacher and assistant with no more than 18 children per class. In the VPK class, children learn through playing independently in math, music, block building, kitchen, science and reading centers with guidance from the teachers. The VPK class also has a circle time daily where they focus on beginning literacy and math skills as well as bible time and other theme based curriculum. They also participate in a weekly chapel time with bible-based themes.

Parents receive a daily report about their child’s academic and social progress each day. VPK students are assessed quarterly using the State’s VPK assessment to monitor their progress. Each student will receive an end of the year portfolio with pictures and samples of their work from throughout the year. FCA offers a VPK Graduation at the end of the year with a celebration of all that they have accomplished. Our VPK students also participate in our yearly Christmas Pageant, Thanksgiving Feast and Mother’s Day Tea.
