Our Programs

Preschool

One Year Old Class- Our one year old class uses a combination of the Creative Curriculum along with theme based lessons to lay foundations of learning for their future in school.  The ones class has a lead teacher and an assistant teacher, with no more than 7 children per class. Children play independently in music, blocks, dramatic play and reading centers with guidance from the teachers. The teachers engage the children in Bible stories and they participate in a mini chapel time with the two year olds each week. One year olds receive a daily report to communicate with the parents about health and social progress as well as any needs that they may have. All students at FCA receive an end of the year portfolio with their work, showing the progress that they have made throughout the year.

 

Two Year Old Class– Our two year old class uses a combination of the creative curriculum along with theme based lessons to meet the needs of active twos, while preparing them for their future in school.

The two year old class has a lead teacher and assistant teacher, with no more than 16 children per class. In the twos class, children play independently in music, block building, kitchen, science and reading centers with guidance from the teachers. The twos class also has a circle time where they learn beginning literacy and math skills as well as bible stories and theme based curriculum. The twos participate in a mini chapel with the one year old class each week. We focus on potty training during the twos class and report progress to the parents daily.

Parents receive a daily report with comments from their children’s teachers on health, behavior and special interests of the children . All students at FCA receive an end of the year portfolio with their work, showing the progress that they have made throughout the year.

Three Year Old Class— Our three year old class uses a combination of the creative curriculum along with theme based lessons to meet the academic needs of the children while preparing them for VPK and Kindergarten. The three year old class has a lead teacher and assistant teacher, with no more than 18 children per class. In the threes class, children learn through playing independently in math, music, block building, kitchen, science and reading centers with guidance from the teachers.

The threes class also has a circle time daily where they focus on beginning literacy and math skills as well as bible time and other theme based curriculum. They also participate in a weekly chapel time with bible-based themes. Parents receive a daily report about the academic and social progress of their child each day. All students at FCA are assessed quarterly to monitor their progress and receive an end of the year portfolio with pictures and samples of their work from throughout the year.

Young Four Year Old Class— Our young four year old class uses a combination of the creative curriculum along with theme based lessons to meet the academic needs of the children while preparing them for VPK and Kindergarten. The four year old class has a lead teacher with no more than 12 children per class. In the fours class, children learn through playing independently in math, music, block building, kitchen, science and reading centers with guidance from the teachers. The fours class also has a circle time daily where they focus on beginning literacy and math skills as well as bible time and other theme based curriculum.

They also participate in a weekly chapel time with bible-based themes. Parents receive a daily report about their academic and social progress each day. All students at FCA are assessed quarterly to monitor their progress and receive an end of the year portfolio with pictures and samples of their work from throughout the year.

VPK

Our VPK class uses a combination of the Creative Curriculum along with theme based lessons to meet the academic needs of the children while preparing them for Kindergarten. The VPK class has a lead teacher and assistant with no more than 18 children per class. In the VPK class, children learn through playing independently in math, music, block building, kitchen, science and reading centers with guidance from the teachers. The VPK class also has a circle time daily where they focus on beginning literacy and math skills as well as bible time and other theme based curriculum. They also participate in a weekly chapel time with bible-based themes.

Parents receive a daily report about their child’s academic and social progress each day. VPK students are assessed quarterly using the State’s VPK assessment to monitor their progress. Each student will receive an end of the year portfolio with pictures and samples of their work from throughout the year. FCA offers a VPK Graduation at the end of the year with a celebration of all that they have accomplished. Our VPK students also participate in our yearly Christmas Pageant, Thanksgiving Feast and Mother’s Day Tea.
